The Vagina Monologues and Herstories
The UCSB Womxn’s Ensemble Theatre Troupe (WETT) is thrilled to announce our annual performances of The Vagina Monologues and Herstories, bringing Eve Ensler’s award-winning piece to the Campbell Hall stage alongside original student-written monologues.
These performances are organized, directed, and performed entirely by UCSB students, and all profits from our shows go to support Standing Together to End Sexual Assault (formerly the Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center) and One Billion Rising.
Through The Vagina Monologues, we explore womxn’s issues on a global scale, and continue Ensler’s project of destigmatizing the vagina; with Herstories, we bring the conversation to UC Santa Barbara, and amplify student voices to tell stories about modern womxnhood. In this joint performance, we cover topics such as self-exploration, bodily autonomy, sexual assault, womxn’s health, and body image, as well as the multiple intersections of gender, sexuality, race, ability, and more; WETT is committed to maintaining a space in which we do not limit what womxnhood and femininity can be.
Tickets are $10, and are available through the AS Ticket Office, online, and at the door.
