SANTA BARBARA FOOD CYCLE EXPLORATION
Where does our food come from? What are issues affecting food access in this community? Join us to explore these questions with farmers, beekeepers, scientists, and activists from the Santa Barbara Foodshed. The Santa Barbara community is invited to attend this free event to learn from local experts about the food cycle from soil and seed, to seedling and harvest, to distribution and justice. The event will take place at UC Santa Barbara’s Greenhouse and Garden Project. Participants will engage with local, seasonal varieties in various stages of reproduction and growth. Together participants will integrate science, action, and justice through an exploration of the food cycle from a diversity of perspectives.
Each local expert will give a short presentation followed by Q&A with the audience. The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion and time for enjoying a local fruit and vegetable spread, making seed bombs, and exploring the gardens and local produce.
