The UCSB Department of History invites you to a lecture by Howard University Professor Thomas Foster on Monday, March 9, at 4:00 pm in HSSB 6020 (McCune Conference Room). Professor Foster will discuss his newly-published book Rethinking Rufus: Sexual Violations of Enslaved Men, the first book-length study of sexual violence perpetrated against enslaved men.

The event is free and open to the public. Cosponsors for this event include the Walter H. Capps Center, the IHC, the Center for Black Studies Research, the Hull Chair in Feminist Studies, and the Department of Classics.
