According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the cost of college textbooks rose 88% between 2006 and 2016. The high cost of college textbooks leads many students to forgo purchasing the textbook for one or more of their classes. Join students from CALPIRG who have organized this faculty and student panel to discuss how the use of OER and affordable textbook alternatives can help students succeed using high-quality, low-cost materials.
