Welcome to our 23rd annual MUJERcitas Conference!

The primary purpose of this conference is to outreach to Latinx high school womxn in the Santa Barbara community in order to increase awareness of educational and career opportunities. We target female students, from the local high schools, who are labeled and/or considered “at risk” of not graduating and who also lack the resources to pursue a college education. The conference will take place during a typical school day, Friday, April 13th, and participants will be transported to UCSB to enjoy an all-day event. Although it is designed for the Latinx/Chicanx youth, the event is open to the public and open for anyone to volunteer for.

The theme of our conference this year is called, “Sueños en la Realidad: Empowerment, Resistance and Devine Healing.” These key concepts are explored in our workshops led by community members and students on a volunteer basis. Throughout the day, the young women will participate in these workshop sessions, discussion panels, and activities that will expose them to college and career options, personal growth, health and well being, and self-empowerment with a break at Storke Tower for lunch and music!
