Monday, November 2, 2015
4:00 AM – 5:15 PM

Free Event

As part of Open Access Week, this talk will be presented by Kenneth D. Crews, an attorney, author, professor, and international copyright consultant. Changing technologies and new developments in copyright allow fresh opportunity to create and share our scholarly works. This revolution has led to collisions with copyright law. The good news is that copyright is flexible. The challenge is that we need to give copyright serious attention to fully reinvent the nexus between copyright and academic pursuits. This session will offer an overview of fair use, public domain, open access, and other critical developments. (UCSB Library, Mary Cheadle Room, 3rd Floor)
